Karine Zbinden

Karine Zbinden

After graduating in English, French and Russian at the University of Lausanne, Dr Karine Zbinden joined the University of Sheffield’s Bakhtin Centre where she obtained her PhD on the Transmission of Bakhtin’s Works across cultures and the Russian reception of dominant Western interpretations of his thought.

She is currently working on Tzvetan Todorov and his work on totalitarianism and also on problems of translations of works by Valentin Voloshinov and Mikhail Bakhtin and the relation between translation and intellectual history.
