David Clayton

David Clayton is a historian of the British Empire with a particular focus on Hong Kong. His first book, Imperialism Revisited: political and economic relations between Britain and China, 1950-54 (Macmillan, 1997), was a study of the origins of the Cold War in East Asia. His latest work is on water diplomacy between Hong Kong and China in the 1960s.

He also co-runs a Leverhulme Trust funded network on transnational radio broadcasting which is investigating the impact of the Cold War on international communications.
