David Forrest is Lecturer in Film Studies in the University of Sheffield’s School of English. He is the author of Social Realism: Art, Nationhood and Politics.
He has completed a book (with Sue Vice) on the novelist and screenwriter Barry Hines, and has two edited collections forthcoming: Filmburbia: Screening the Suburbs (with Graeme Harper and Jonathan Rayner) and Social Class and Television Drama in Contemporary Britain (with Beth Johnson).
His research is focused mainly on questions of class, space, place and region in British film and television drama.
